There are many types of casting and they work in different ways, but all of them involve the following steps in the process.

The molten metal is now poured into a predefined cavity.
The molten metal is allowed to solidify at the desired cooling rate.
The casting is removed from the mold and cleaned for further processing, such as machining, surface finishing polishing, etc.
